MISSION:
It is our mission to be a community of God's people who care for one another, encourage people to think for themselves, seek to be open to new truth that God may reveal to us, translate our faith into action, be responsive to the social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of each individual, and understand worship as central to our life together.

— Zion UCC Mission Statement

We are part of the Illinois South Conference of the UCC.

We are the people of the Illinois South Congregations of the United Church of Christ, and we believe that God has called and uniquely gifted us to embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ for such a time as this.

We believe in Jesus Christ, risen Savior, and sole head of the church. We seek to do the work of Christ on Earth through our shared missions of healing, mercy, and justice. We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us, comfort us, challenge us, empower us, and to bind us together in a loving, covenantal relationship as the Illinois South Conference.

We are part of the National UCC which states:

To love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and our neighbor as ourselves.

United in Christ’s love, a just world for all.

United in Spirit and inspired by God’s grace, we welcome all, love all, and seek justice for all.
