How We Give Back to the Communtiy

“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

— Luke 6:38

Food Pantry

Our food pantry is available for individuals who may find themselves in need of assistance.

Our food pantry is regularly stocked by our Director of The Giving Tree and from generous donations from grants, church members, individuals from the community and beyond.

Residents from New Baden or New Memphis may fill out an application at the Zion UCC Office to use the Food Pantry monthly. From June until August, summer food vouchers are available for families with children. Non-residents may be given permission to use the pantry under special circumstances.

Clothing Pantry

Every Monday from 11 am until 2 pm, our clothing pantry is open to the general public for anyone in need of clothing, shoes, jackets, small household items and more!.

Along with our food pantry, we take clothing and most household items as donations for our clothing pantry.* We set up every Monday and encourage anyone who is looking for something to come and browse. Sometimes, you never know what you may find.

*We do not accept large electronic items, bedding, mattresses, or large furniture items

Operation Food Search

Monthly Distribution

On the first Friday of every month, we host a drive-thru distribution for anyone who is in need of extra food.

This distribution is open to the general public and to anyone who is in need of food or maybe wants to save on their grocery bill.

Backpack Project (August)

Every year, The Giving Tree Church Committee holds an event for parents and students who need assistance with school supplies. The event has a good turnout every year and we are always adding more kids to the list each year. If you would like to know more about the project, please contact the office.

Angel Tree Project

(November-December)

When Christmas comes around, The Giving Tree Committee always likes to help out and provide gifts for children. A list is normally compiled of kids based on their age and gender, and then their profiles are placed on an Angel and set on a tree In our Gathering Space. Anyone is welcome to come take an angel off the tree and shop for the child.
